Alec The Great

Alec, a well intentioned teen, cannot catch a break. While trying to get through his performance as the King in the high school production of “Gallileo”, his attempt to thwart the school bully from ruining the play ends with Alec blamed for the ensuing disaster. There is no time set things right as two men appear from another dimension and mistake Alec for an actual king. They abduct him, hopping into a hole between dimensions.

Alec is taken to the land of Chelan where he is anointed temporary King to prevent the tyrannical and corrupt Navacelle from taking command. Triffken, an inventor and Navacelle’s biggest detractor, promises to get Alec home in short time. Until then, Alec is given full reign of Chelan and all of the perks that go with being a real king. He meets Martine, a feisty princess who wants nothing to do with him.

Alec’s idyllic state sours when he learns that he was chosen to be king only because Chelan’s greatest king, Amaury, along with every interim king that followed have gone missing and no soul is willing to assume the throne out of fear of sharing that fate. Compound that with the realization that Chelan is at war with its neighbor and the people of Chelan hold the king responsible for their paucity – Alec quickly finds himself in a precarious situation.

Before Alec can prove his merit, Navacelle overthrows the kingdom and imprisons Alec and Triffken. It is there that Triffken reveals the greatest threat: the universe is rapidly unwinding like a clock and everyone’s existence is at stake. Alec and Triffken must escape the clutches of the seemingly evil Navacelle, promote peace between two clashing cities, and enlist the help of Martine and a group of surly giants to find King Amaury and save the universe.
